Financial Controller - Maternity Cover

We are looking for a sharp and hands-on Financial Controller to cover a 12-month maternity leave to be part of our Groupe Finance Team in central Copenhagen, right next to where it all began.

What you will be doing in Sticks’n’Sushi

This is a real role with real responsibility where pace, accuracy and togetherness matter in equal measure.

As our Financial Controller you will reporting directly to the Head of Group Finance, with a remit to keep the numbers honest, the reporting timely, and the business well-informed across Denmark and Germany.

Some of the things you will work on:

Reporting & Controls

• Running month-end with the Copenhagen finance team to ensure smooth, efficient, and accurate monthly reporting
• Review monthly balance sheets and reconciliations to ensure the integrity of our financial reporting
• Restaurant and G&A P&L reviews during close to catch variances, errors, or mispostings
• Keep our financial controls and documentation to a high standard - because good habits make everything else easier
• Support the Head of Group Finance through the audit process

Planning & Analysis

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and outturn analysis for our Danish and German businesses
• Get under the skin of our P&Ls so you can answer questions from Operations teams and Restaurant Managers with confidence
• Ownership of the FnB system and flag significant inventory variances when they appear

Operations & Stakeholder Support

• Build strong relationships with Restaurant Management, helping them understand their P&Ls and providing training where needed
• Contribute in day-to-day analysis as directed by the Head of Group Finance, for example calculate the impact from a new contract and update forecast

What we are looking for in our ideal candidate...

One with a big smile and small ego, who brings calm, dare and structured approach even when month-end gets busy.

Ideally you:

• Got solid experience in a Financial Controller position and you know what good month-end looks like.
• Have worked in a fast-paced environment where the business never really stops. Experience in restaurants or the hospitality industry is a bonus.
• Balance sheets and P&L reconciliations do not intimidate you - they interest you.
• Are comfortable talking finance to non-finance people without making their eyes glaze over.
• Work well independently, manage your own deadlines, and do not need to be chased.
• Are fluent in both Danish and English - German is a bonus.
• Are confident in Excel and ERP systems. We are using Business Central 365 and if you know your way around Power BI that is a bonus.
• We expect that you have 5+ years of experience in a similar role
