We’re looking for a Head Chef of unique skills to join our exciting new opening in Leeds. You’re a trusted senior, taking the initiative and setting the tone to create a seamless operation. Passionate about working with the highest quality fresh ingredients, making each plate to order. Keen to shape the individual culture of your location and deliver memorable experiences for our Guests and your Fish (kitchen brigade) alike.
Are you
· Someone who works with hands, head and heart in harmony? A precision-focused individual, even under fast-paced pressure?
· Positive and fun to be around, in the heat (or cool) of the busy kitchen?
· Able to adapt and move with change, without letting standards drop?
· The type who stands shoulder to shoulder with their fellow Chefs, with a big smile and a small ego?
· Culturally curious and hungry to learn more about our Danish ’n’ Japanese roots?
What you’ll be doing as Head Chef at Sticks ’n’ Sushi
· Responsible for all aspects of the operation in the kitchen, from prep and food quality through to the highest standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and compliance
· Ensuring we create the highest qulaity sushi, sashimi and kushiyaki stick
· Meeting budgets through labour management and stock control
· Putting your passion and pride into ensuring a delicious plate and experience for every guest, every time
· Nurturing, coaching and developing other members of your team
What you’ll bring to us
· Proven Head Chef experience in a busy, fresh food kitchen
· Excellent knife and sushi-making skills
· Fluency in English, the language of our kitchen
· An eye for detail; always upholding the highest standards and ensuring every shift is in the very safest pair of hands
· A love of deepening your craft. You respect the rituals and traditions but are also curious to bring your own spark and ideas to it
· Team spirit, kindness, respect. We only swear (quietly) at ourselves here, no-one else.
· Thinking “we” rather than “I”
· A desire to have fun as you work with your fellow chefs. Togetherness is the word.
· A genuine commitment to making people - guest and team alike – happy, to ensure that like every other Sticks'n'Sushi kitchen you have one of the happiest teams in the business
